The Corcoran Association of Student Theatre's
2022 Spring Production Cast List
Please read the message below before looking at the cast list.
IMPORTANT:
This cast list only lists three people for the ensemble of reporters and staff. This is ONLY because the other auditioners who aren’t offered a role did not check off that they were willing to be cast in the ensemble on their audition forms. If this is you, you ARE invited to join the ensemble – we just respected your wishes on the form… just let us know you want to join the ensemble, and you’re “in”!
Please check the rehearsal schedule and begin to clear your schedule as needed. We understand that there are a few of you with other commitments on your application, which we will honor (you will remind us when we have our first meeting), but please meet your side of that deal, and do not surprise us with new conflicts you didn’t admit on your application. The first rehearsal will a full cast meeting on Tuesday, January 4 after school in the chorus room, where you will receive materials and show details, and we will begin rehearsing.
Please remember that you agreed to be considerate, mature, and sensitive in your reactions, whether excited or disappointed. If you did not get the role you hoped for, please understand that it was very tight competition for these roles. Remember not to take this personally – as an actor himself, Mr. Hipius has not even made the cast list on many plays he has auditioned for and understands your disappointment. Also, any part in a show is as fun as YOU make it… we hope you’ll recognize that you can learn, grow, thrive, and enjoy any experience if you choose to embrace it (and we hope you do!).
Cast List (in order of appearance)
(note: there is no good way to put these roles in order because so many of them have their own moments in the show and it is impossible to compare, which is why the original Broadway production only listed cast in order of their first appearance, as they are listed here)

“Mrs. Tottendale” Madison Conley
“Underling” Emilio Hernandez
“Robert Martin” Anna McDermitt
“George” Nat Bernazzani

“Gangster 2” Lily Collins
“Aldolpho” Ian Rudy

“Trix the Aviatrix” Kiley Monroe

Starting Rehearsal Schedule
These first three weeks, our focus is primarily on music. While there are a few times (noted) when we will work a little character and acting, and we will also try to add some blocking and choreography around this schedule if we can, that is all second priority to getting the music solidly down. We do know that some of you have commitments (clubs or class needs) that last until 3:15 – please know that we understand those come first and you will join us when you are finished with them on the days that music rehearsals begin earlier than 3:15.

Why post this here?If you are just visiting our little Hipius family website and are confused by this page: Greg J. Hipius is the theatre director at Corcoran High School in Syracuse, New York. Normally, he would post the cast list for the spring musical as a physical paper on the wall on December 23rd... however, the Superintendent of the Syracuse City School District has just given the students and staff a holiday gift of an unexpected extra day off on December 23rd, and since the last day of auditions will be after school on the 22nd, there is no way to share the cast list with the auditioners by putting it up on the wall... they'd have to wait until after the holiday break, and, well, many of them might explode waiting that long. So, we have temporarily made a space on this site to post the cast list when it is available. After a few weeks, this page will just disappear again, and it will be like it never existed.

When will it be posted? Now! See above!

When do rehearsals start? We will have a full cast meeting to start the process at 3:15pm on TUESDAY, JANUARY 4, 2022. If you are in the cast, it is very important that you clear your schedule for afterschool rehearsals beginning that date. We will share specifics about whom will come on which days at that time.
If the auditorium is cleared for use by then, we will meet there, but since we are still not allowed in yet (due to the fire alarm system still not being finished), it is possible we will have to meet elsewhere, such as the chorus room. Just head to the auditorium lobby before 3:15 and look for signs! |
